Quote of the artist : “ Meditation on the lotus Mandala can open our mind, body and soul like a thousand of petals, and it opens the heart to a new higher consciousness within ourselves. It allows us to better love ourselves and others.”
In Sanskrit “Maha” means big, immense or important and “Padma” means lotus or sacred lotus. This plays a central role in Indian beliefs such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism.
Often used as an example of divine beauty and purity, the Padma appears as an endemic platform upon which deities rest and upon which Hindu iconography is founded. Its unfolding petals suggest the expansion of the soul. The growth of its pure beauty from the mud of its origin, holds a benign spiritual promise. The lotus flower is a representation of creation and cosmic renewal and "primordial purity", similar to the chakra and mandala symbolism. In Buddhist symbolism the lotus represents purity of the body, speech and mind as while rooted in the mud, its flowers blossom on long stalks as if floating above the muddy waters of attachment and desire. It is also symbolic of detachment as drops of water easily slide off its petals.
Symbolism of colors:
Blue in sky is the color of infinity, eternity, transparency and imagination. The color turquoise is the color of the expression, communication and clarity of thought. Turquoise helps to open the barriers between the heart and the spoken word. It is recognized as a friendly and happy color enjoying life.
Magenta (rose) is the color of universal harmony and emotional balance. This is a color that helps to create harmony and balance in every aspect of life; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Meditation and advantage:
Meditation on the lotus Mandala can open our mind, body and soul like a thousand of petals, and it opens the heart to a new higher consciousness within ourselves. It may allow us to better love ourselves and others.
